UTP cabletester – school soldering project

For the secondary technical school I’m working at, I’ve developed a PCB and coded a microcontroller to be able to check the connections on a UTP cable. This project has more than one goal. First of all it was made to make the students practice on their soldering skills. But when they are finished with that they are able as IT professionals to check UTP cables with this devices.

This devices can check the single wires on a UTP cable (mode 1) and the wire-pairs on this cable, to check cross links (mode 2). You can also slow down the scanning of the wires.

Total cost
The total cost of this device is under € 10,-. Depending on the cost of the components and the number you order at once.
